A World so Vast

Dec 01, 2004 04:05

In a world so vast, it's amazing to me to think about all the possibilities we have and where all of our actions have taken us. I think about the world around me and how who I am and what I have done has affected it. I think about my wants and desires and what I feel is impossible to achieve. We all can find some kind of happiness in the world ( Read more... )

"Whether for good or ill, I find myself turning to fantasy for the things I don't think possible in reality."

- may i ask, what things in particular do you think is not possible in reality? just intrigued to know what exactly you're referring to, that's all. don't feel compelled to answer, though.

my best wishes to you in your quest to "stumble upon that which [you] seek", whatever that may be :)

you're right though, in the sense that we dont tend to know what it is that we "seek"; yet, I do think there are "signposts" along the way, if only we choose to observe, pay attention, and ponder. What do you think?

I think I can be quite fatalistic sometimes; to a certain extent anyway. Actually, perhaps not fatalistic per se; more like, perhaps, 'conscious' of this vaguely present, yet sense-able, guiding force...

I really want to take some time to get to know you. I've skimmed some of your posts and you have a lot to say about the world. I'm sure upon closer inspection you'd also have a lot to say about yourself. Come break I'm definitely going to take a look.

In answer to your questions though I advise taking a look at the post, The Unadulterated Truth Part II, on April 6th. That should shed some light on things.

yes, if you read between the lines, you will see that i say a lot about myself.

actually, that's the same with everyone; what a person chooses to write about, or omit, says a lot about themselves.

i will post a comment on that thread.

he world is not a fun place and it takes a lot to just stay alive
Fantasy for me is an escape. I know all to well what reality can give. Its times when I just need to get away.

Orwell talks about that in “shooting an elephant”. how people act one way for so long than when and if they see there fault they are forced to stay the same and not change.

You talk of your character. I know not enough about you to pass any judgment..you only show what you want people to see..the good, bad, and the crazy. I see a lot of interesting things about you. Once my cousin said “spill your head open to see what’s on the inside.” Kinda applies to you.

Not everyone lives by society standards. That’s what my RHT professor would say you made a hasty generalization.
