OOPS Colin's had an off

Mar 26, 2009 18:06

This morning at 08:35 my Colin got knocked off his bike by a dopey (female) car driver pulling out in front of him at a roundabout less than 2 miles from home.

She assumed blame so hopefully this will mean it gets resolved quickly, but who know's if she will change her mind?

Bike is slightly damaged but considering it's age and all the little things ( Read more... )

Is pitty to see what's happened, when someone involved his passion for a certain things, as in his case, the passion for bike and for protective kit, and when nobody expect something, the "black second" is comming and ruining everything....

Be strong Colin !!!

Being over internet, speaking with plenty people, from most of them I hear " I wish to ......... "

Colin, I will not wish to you something (will be probably empty words)... but I'm by your side with my thoughts and spirit, I cant be there at this moment to tell what I want to tell, maybe I will say something with a small value...

...but I'm by your side >:D

The bike had sliders though they were of poor design (mounted too high up and too short), sadly due to the age of the bike it's very likely to be written off even if it's only cosmetic. (fairing lower, rear pedal, bar-end weights, exhaust, indicators all add up to over 50% of it's value then there's the scuffed forkleg....that's really the clincher, frame damage or just a scuff will determine what we do with it)

I've reason to believe too that sliders could in some instances severely screw the frame of a bike up if they catch rather than slide too, hence why I haven't fitted them to my Superduke.

It's the 3rd party's insurance paying for it, so hopefully it pays up soon and we can sort out a new bike for him.
