He's got two conditions to meet to go permanent. First, I have to have reasonable allergic reactions that improve (which is pretty much how I deal with cats). So far, some light chest issues, but no itching, eye watering, or sniffling, so it's a good start. Second, he has to play nice with Magua

Good point. He's gotten several chew toys as gifts (all appreciated since he like the chewing, and the showing off of the chewing toys.) Not sure if any of them fit for that. But if I see something that looks vaguely papal, I'm getting it.
