Thanks, me too *sigh* See if I can live with it until January. Once there's movement and colours on the screen, it doesn't look so bad, so it's a little easier to ignore, which is good for my wallet :P
I don't know! Whenever something's going well, something else has to ruin it *sigh* But it's a bit easier to ignore the stripes once there's something with colour on the tv. I think I'm gonna be able to look past it until January, thank goodness!
Stupid TVs always breaking at the worst possible moment. So not cheap and convenient to replace, either. Have you tried googling for possible solutions that wouldn't require getting a new TV or being off your TV for a week?
Ain't that the truth! December is the worst possible time for it to break. I have the money for a new one, I just really don't wanna be spending it.
I sadly don't think there's much I can do to try and fix it :/ I think it's something inside the TV that's broken - probably something related to the screen or colours. But at least the stripes are standing still, not jumping or anything, so they're a bit easier to look past. Sometimes they blend in with the colours of whatever I'm watching, so I think I'll be able to wait with replacing it, unless it gets worse.
The old days were better. You'd just use a magnet to drag the lines to the side of the screen :P
Thanks for the link :) I did all of those already - except reset the tv. I can try it once I'm not super annoyed by the whole thing. I don't fancy setting up the entire tv again right now :) Oh, and I don't know what OLED means, but I don't think that's the kind of screen my tv has :) I'm not sure anything would work anyway. It seems like something is broken inside the tv :/ I still think maybe it's my own fault for having the door open right next to it. It is pretty cold outside :/
Yeah I don't know what OLED is either, lol I had a tv for years and all the colours went green but I still kept watching it because I couldn't afford to replace it
Haha, the good old days where you could watch a green tv and be OK with it it :P I'm not sure I'll replace mine any time soon to be honest. I'm barely noticing the stripes by now :O
I thought our TV had gone on Saturday as the girls dragged me out of bed with a "the TV's being weird!". It had developed a vertical blue line, but by some miracle it disappeared when we next used it. It's 15 years old, and has got some blooming on the LCD, but it just about works.
Anyway, I hope you find a solution that isn't too crazy expensive.
Wow, 15 years old :O I thought you had a smart tv.
I have found another tv that costs the same as this one, but I'm honestly barely noticing the stripes after just a few days, so I probably won't run out and replace it very fast. Unless it gets worse of course, but it doesn't seem to be changing for the worse - yet.
It's a flat screen, LCD I think, but no smart-ness. tbh I don't miss it, as I've got an Apple TV and Chromecast connected, and prefer that they're separate from the TV.
