Just thought I should document our yard/garden somewhere. So much work still to be done, but looks better than it did when we moved in. Next early spring, my plan is to get it landscaped completely, in the back. Get it cut out all along the border and get some bushes, shrubs, greenery in, just to get me started, and then we will take over. But

The garden is looking good. Liz and I need (NEED I say!) a garden. We need to start house hunting soon...

Swing sets are essential, too. Swings and beer go together well (but not for someone Zoe's age).

I like doing yardwork! I wish Chicago lots weren't so small. Or expensive, for that matter...

Yes. We really want a yard. While the guys that live above us in the carriage house are really cool, nice guys and the frat boys and trashy girls in the front building have largely been replaced by quieter neighbors, we have no interest in a condo being surrounded by other people.

you say you like doing yardwork now...just wait...until you have to buy things you never even knew existed, and every time you go outside you feel the need to pull weeds that you just pulled the day before.
