Once upon a time there were 4 girls named Laura, Emily, Steph and Chrissy. They decided to drive up to Oakland for the day to see one of their favoritest bands, the Matches. It would turn out to be HELLA fun. They left Thousand Oaks at 4:30 am. Drove for a long ass time. Talked about how "happy cheese doesn't come from California cows" and sang their hearts out to Dashboard Confessional. Emily and Laura rocked out to Celine Dion not once but TWICE! Thank god for NorCal radio stations.

So, once they arrived in the murder capitol of the world they thought it would be fitting to visit the oh so lovely Mountain View Cemetery.

They found one of the "houses" that had been broken into and saw that the coffin had a window!

The girls left the cemetery and made a visit to the Creamatory down the street. Can we say creepy? They were the only ones in there and there were Jesus phrases EVERYWHERE.

By this time the show was about to start so they made their way over to Imusicast. One problem- they hadn't slept in a really long time. Caught a little bit of the acoustic performance then bought tickets but decided to not go in yet. Despite the hot sun they attempted to take a little nap. Well this worked for Emily and Chrissy but Steph and Laura decided to go in and catch some of the opening bands (meaning they sat on the couch and listened and made fun of people). Emily and Chrissy woke up then the girls hung out by the bathrooms and discussed pink eye and interrupted a water balloon war. We rule.

Finally, the Matches played.

Emily and Chrissy hardcore danced. Beat people up. Watched the kids get real low to the floor in some parts of the songs. The girls were scared but were totally the most awesomest people there.

Alas, the show had to come to an end. Waited for the boys for what seemed like forever. They disappeared on us. They'll hear about that next time we see them. Fuckers.

Since no one in that god forsaken town knew of anything fun to do, the 4 tired and sweaty girls piled back into the car to start the long drive home. Very uneventful, but I hear Steph and Chrissy sang along to the whole Avril cd while Laura and Emily were sleeping. Can we say fired?

All in all it was a wonderful trip and the only cool people in Oakland are dead (or weren't home).

The End.

Oh yeah, we saw Piebald the other night. Amazing live band. I wanted to put the singer in my pocket and take him home with me ♥
