A new subspecies of Great Grey owl has been found in Yosemite.

I supposed "newly discovered" would be more accurate. The owl has been around for 26,000 years but remained isolated in the Yosemite area. I'm so glad the park is protecting this subspecies.

But it's big news in the owl world, for sure!
