In general I think Southern California is a shit hole. Orange county is crowded city after crowded city and LA is a jumble of micsellaneous and unattractive architecture, all of which is covered in a nice layer of dirt and probably urine.

However, should you ever find yourself here, check out Pacific Coast Highway. The stretch south of Long Beach

Lol, somehow I'm getting this feeling that SoCal isn't really your cup of tea! I don't really remember a lot of it but I think I'm going to try to move to a pretty warm location so it is still in the running for when I return to America. NYC might be out, my friend just moved to Massachusetts and apparently it's only in the 60s - 70s there right now, in August, so I can only imagine the hellish cold that it must be in the wintertime. I'm planning on visiting Florida for at least part of this winter, and if I can swing it perhaps Okinawa as well.
I miss the beach, though. This post just made me want to go all the more! Apparently there are no good beaches anywhere near Tokyo though, everyone says that you have to go a lot further south to get anything approaching good.
