Shopping on a Monday night is a rather dispiriting thing. The shops are mostly empty of customers, and the parking lots, always copious in America, are mostly empty too. It lends everything a feeling decline and one does not have to imagine too much to see the stores becoming derelict

Also, yeah, I usually like deserted shopping, but it must have been something about the atmosphere of the night, or maybe just the people I happened to see, but there was something decidedly creepy about it.

I like shopping when it's quiet. But no so quiet that you're the only one in the shop and staff are hovering around wanting to serve you when you just want to look in peace and quiet :)

And yeah, it is always that way, when you just want to look quietly you are inundated with helpful staff, but when you actually need help, you can't find a single soul up to the task...

I try to combat this by saying.."Oh, I have a couple issues" even when I only have one...that way if I do ask someone else, they might assume it is for a different issue...
