It is fantabulous! Aside from Hermione being a bit of an idiot toward the end, which I tried so hard not to get aggravated by but still did, it was great! I can't believe it was the author's first fic, too, such a complex plot she carried off. And usually when a relationship's consummated, I find the rest of the fic...less interesting? Like, I'm in it for the build-up and when it reaches that point, it's reached its high- but in AMoC, there was so much else going on, it kept me hooked. :D

Aww, yay! Hope you love Fade to Grey as much as I did! (and leave some love for the author, too, if you have time!)

Ahhh, this makes it clearer. Yes, if the harder prompt is speaking to you, go for it, just set your boundaries before you start so you don't get halfway into an epic and realise come July you only have half a story to submit.

I so do not want to get myself stuck in an epic. My brain is not geared toward epics, I have no hope of it being done, or done right. *eyeroll*

Yeah, I was trying to ignore the other prompt, but I have scenes in my head, so that's something? As opposed to being completely uninspired. *clutches head* I refuse to let it spiral out of control, I will prune it down to size, damn it!

Lol, I actually had a memo on my phone to email you this weekend! I have one or two things I'm mulling over, although maybe I'll try to write them out before I email you to see if it makes sense. I'm glad you're around, it makes me a bit less panicky! ♥

Yeah scenes in head is good - but yes, cut it down to something manageable. And yes! Feel free to email me with ideas/scenes etc. :)

Lol, the prob with scenes-in-head is that it's never as good when I get them down on computer, but I shall try.

I'm messing around with the way spells work- but I figure JKR retconned or contradicted herself often enough that I can prob get away with it. SHHH. :P

I'm okay with a certain level of darkfic, like there are some where Hermione is kind of hardcore raped by Death Eaters and it's not particularly pleasant or anything, but occasionally it does produce good stories. And again, it sets up so much angst which just delights my soul, haha. But I agree that most do go too far, especially with the Death Eater angle. Tbh, I think the idea of revels where the DEs torture and rape people and whatever is both overdone and ridiculous to begin with. I know they tortured Muggles for no particular reason but ... IDK. Maybe it just shows up in way too many stories so I'm just sick of it, but it seems like, not the kind of thing they would be wasting their time on quite as often as some fics would have us believe. I feel similarly about MLC, that they're waaay overdone at this point and just a little boring, but I'm so happy you mentioned CoMC because seriously, second favorite fic ever. There is nothing in it that is less than wonderful ( ... )

I am the same way with my exchange fic, one was really easy and I could have been done probably by now but I chose the one that called to me and I'm on chapter 4 and Hermine and Severus haven't even really started talking yet, lol. I didn't want my first exchange fic to be so involved but its turning out to be maybe a 6 chapter fic, lol.

And damn you for listing so many fics I haven't read yet! Its a good thing I have internet on my phone because that's where i read a lot of the HG/SS fics! Its so addicting :)

I really like the banner and will be checking out fade to grey first to read! Plus I need some H/S icons now too for all my squee fandom posts.

Gah, I feel you, bb. *squish* The long and involved fics are so much work, but if that's what's calling to you, what can you do? In my case, there was no 'easy' prompt, though, 'twas all very complicated, only one was less difficult, but I could not think of anything to write! Blockage, argh, it hurts my brain.

LOL at being four chapters in and no convos yet! I'll be intrigue to read this when it's posted!

Hee, I'm glad to be able to point you to new fics! I love these and I hope you enjoy them as well. :D (I wish my phone was reliable and high-tech enough to let my read fics on it *pout* My cousin told me she was reading one fic on her phone as well, lol- I've been trying to get her into it for years and she finally started reading one of Hannah's fic. It's so funny, Netty doesn't really get fanfic and she's like 'where does this fit into the books?' and I'm like, 'Nooo, it's written so well it could be published but it's just fanfic!')

WOW! Thank you for the links to the icons - I kept searching through the different icon communities for some of both of them and wasn't getting much luck.

I love my phone, I'll start a fic at home on my laptop then email the link to myself and continue to read while I'm waiting to pick the kids up from school and then read again when I get home. It makes reading a good epic a little easier.

Thats so cool that you are getting your cousin to read fanfic! Another SS/HG on the way please ;)
