A lot of times, I qualify statements with ‘this is so embarrassing, but…’ or ‘I’m kinda ashamed to say this’.But really? I don’t have to do that! I don’t need to justify my tastes, no matter how much I feel like I do. I’m sure most of you guys don’t judge me incessantly, or if you do side-eye me on something, well, it’s not the end of the world. We

It's kind of ok if you just read the parts about Alice. So like. About 20 pages in each book. >_>
I honestly don't know what happened with Twilight though. People knock S. Meyer for being a horrible author, but The Host is one of the best executed, most moving novels I have ever read. I cried buckets of tears of sorrow, horror, and amazement the first time I read it, and I still cry at each re-read at a certain scene. I have read it four times now, and I still love it. Perhaps Meyer just knows who she's writing for? Twilight is geared at angsty pre-teens, and The Host was meant for adults. The heroine of The Host is smart, resourceful, cares for others, flawed, and understanding. It is truly on my list of top ten books I have ever read ( ... )

Thing is, there should be no shame in reading well-written fanfic. Even if the source lacks all crediblity and is a laughingstock, that shouldn't have any reflection on when a good or even great author takes the material and works magic with it. Which is what happened here, imo! <3

Just the first two and I went. ARE YOU TRYING TO TELL ME SOMETHING. Adorable Pheobe AND tSoM?! *flails*
And then there was Emma, Misha, the Pink Panther ♥ Santana, the Grinch... and Being Human (UK)!!

Nah, no pressure, I mean, if you do and enjoy it, that's great. But this post was mainly me being way too excited and needing an outlet or else I'd explode from containing my feelings!
I'd use my one Annie icon except she's giving the finger, so that's not very appropriate, haha. She's so adorable, though!

I read the Twilight books but never saw the movies or anything. Its a large fandom though, like HP.
I love the Cordy gif! I am so stealing that :)

I read the first and nearly combusted from the total dreckitude. Just. I was tearing my hair out by the end, I couldn't handle it. I actually paid to see the second movie at the cinemas, lol, and had a fantastic time, it was SO FUNNY. IDK if the rest of the cinema was laughing with me, but it was utterly lolworthy.
I steal gifs from everywhere, hehe, the Cordy one really appealed to me. ^_^

I read them because Sara liked them and she was the reason I got hooked on Harry Potter so I gave them a chance. Nowhere as good - no one in Twilight kept my interest the way Snape did :)

I wish more authors would write about characters like Snape. I find his sort of brooding anti-hero so much more interesting than golden boy, the-world-is-black-and-white, I-am-so-noble-rawr types. Oh, well, thank goodness for fanfic!

I'd appreciate it if you'd correct in your text that I and the author of Methods of Rationality aren't the same person. We're friends, but he's Eliezer Yudkowsky and I'm Alicorn. (We aren't even the same gender!) He's more popular; I can keep a schedule. He wrote a complete overhaul; I wrote a single-point-of-departure.

(Um, if you don't mind me asking, how did you come across my post?)
Anyway, all that aside, it's really cool to actually talk to you, and well, as you can see, I LOVE THIS FIC A LOT, so yes. ♥___♥
if you don't hate me at the end of Luminosity
O.O Now...now I'm paranoid. *bites nails*
