So, unlike 99% of Thor viewers, I (metaphorically) walked out of this shipping not Loki/Sif, which is the fan favorite, and not Loki/Jane, but Loki/Darcy. I know what you're thinking!

I haven't watched Thor yet but but but this ship sounds like SSHG to a certain extent plus I adore Loki as a mythological character even if he can be a bit of an ass sometimes tbqh and I /have/ to love someone called Darcy lolololol <3

I do have a type, I must say, stern, austere older man, with younger, more vibrant female, lol. IDK, I'm a sucker for a dude with angst and turmoil and who doesn't interact well with others being won over by a chick who sees through that prickly facade and gets under his skin and makes life more worthwhile and all that. I'm incoherent, ugh, why can I not articulate, but you know what I mean, right? Right. Just. Yeah.

I absolutely love that you made this entire post into a Darcy/Loki lovefest, darlin'. ♥ ♥ ♥ You are awesome!!! And for this, I give you a million billion swedish fish kisses. M'wah! :-* And thank you so much for helping me promote the community! I really hope activity picks up over there. I know most of the awesome activity is over at Tumblr (which is why I got out of my hiatus & went back there in the first place), but sometimes, I still miss the 'intimacy' of discussing my fandoms/ships on LJ. So hopefully, I won't be the only one posting at the comm as time goes on. :\

And thanks so much for posting the link to 'So He Won't Break' and that gen Thor fic! I haven't heard about those yet, so I'll give 'em a go. Always out to find more good fic, you know? Heck, I still have plenty to catch up with on FF.net. Not complaining, though, since I don't mind drowning in the 'Thor' fandom right now. LOL.

Yes, it started off as 'lookit this shiny ship, yay!' and then I decided I needed a graphic to accompany it, and then I found the timesuck that is tumblr and fell down that rabbit hole, lol. Oh, btw, have you seen that vid before? I was despairing of finding any good YT vids for this pairing and that one just blew me away. So cool.

Anyway, I'm glad the tumblr is going well and I really hope the lj comm picks up as well. *fingers crossed*

Funny, my interest in Darcy/Loki started with a very random search on FF.net. I was just curious to find out what people were shipping in Thor fandom. Who knew that trying a Darcy/Loki fic on a whim would come to this? XD

You know what? I had never seen that vid before until I saw it here and on Tumblr. It's honestly one of the best D/L vids I've seen to date! Now that I have some time, I'm going to link it over at 'Mischief Loves Tasers' for others to see. Vids like that should be spread around. :)

As for a justification...Well, I love Loki and I was casting around for someone to ship him with- Jane is off the table entirely, and while I like Sif, most of the fics about them are all tragic and make me want to cry, especially since the movie ends with them all thinking he's dead.

With Darcy, though? He ends up on Earth, so he could conceivably be around her, and one thing a fic with Darcy will never be is mopey and angst-ridden, so I don't have to fret about bursting into tears. If done properly, it will be funny and witty and make me cackle at their anticss, because damn, Darcy will confuse the hell out of him and it will be gold. So yes. I'm pretty happy there are some people that think the same and write fic/make graphics for it. :D

Haha, you didn't catch that? At the end of the movie, we see Loki in a reflection and he's spying on people that are working on some top secret project. I get the impression he might even be mind-controlling one of the main guys, but that's not confirmed, it's just that Loki was all 'we have a lot of work to do' or something and it seemed like he might be influencing the dude in some way.

So yeah, he's on Earth (at least as an insidious reflection!) and up to no good.

I think Natalie Portman is in the next movie and they might be resolving her-and-Thor, but most of the movie is about the heroes tackling the villains. I'm a little worried, 'coz Loki was portrayed so sympathetically in Thor, but since the movie is about the Avengers vs Baddies, he might end up all 2-dimensionally evil. *frets*
