I'm glad you gave in and did this! I love them and the Tin Man crossover! :D
I then recalled this discussion about how gross it is that characters go around manhandling Regina, because as a woman, it's okay to push her around, when nobody treats Rumpelstiltskin in the same manner, despite them both being villains who've screwed tons of people over. The writers make me so very uncomfortable with the double-standards in how these two are written and treated by others. *sigh*That's what bothers me SO effin bad this season! No, no, no! She abandoned her CHILD, of course that merits killing her! It's not murder, it's RIGHTEOUS JUSTICE for her horrific crime of wanting a better life for herself that Rumpel refused to consider at all, despite being a reasonable request that they move from a community that despised them .
I cannot with all the justifications for cold-blooded murder. You'd think people would be horrified by it, but nooooo. So many fans act like he's avenging a wrong instead of acting out of wounded pride. (the number of times I've read 'she left her kid behind, she deserved it' or 'well, he overreacted a bit, BUT her actions made it understandable he'd lash out', omfg
