I returned home saturday around noon from my 10 days of "evolution 1" " OJT. Evo 1 focused on driving mostly, and Evo 2 (another 10 days) will focus on trip planning and paperwork. After that, assuming the trainer feels I am capable of doing the job, I will be issued a truck and I'll be ready to go. So where all have I been ( Read more... )

Sharing the truck for 10 days with a trainer was rough. For one thing, he had the personal hygene of a musk ox.
Hehe...sorry to hear that.

I hope the next trainer will be a bit better of a teacher, someone with more patience, and a better attitude toward his job.
I hope so, too. Good to hear from you! If nothing else, I hope you get to see more interesting places and keep your sense of adventure. :) How comfortable are you feeling with the trucks so far?

I doubt my sense of adventure will ever leave me, and as far as my comfort level with the trucks, I'm fine and comfortable driving forward, but backing is still giving me trouble. I also have self esteem issues, including the occaisional bout of the "can I really do it's". My last trainer wasn't very encouraging at all. He was actually quite rude about things like that. He had no experience with a neurotic like myself. I think I'll be ok, though, since i can "drive" the truck and I'm getting better at backing.
