Reaction to Breaking Dawn

Bella gets everything she wants -- a baby, immortality, can still talk to Charlie, Alice and Jasper come back, and guess what?  In seven years Renesmee will STOP AGING and be able to live forever, just like Bella can!!  Oh, and I won't even get into Bella's perfect self-control.
And no one close to her ever dies

Like I said, I've never read any of the Twilight books, but based on what I've heard, why are they even being compared to Harry Potter in the first place?

Mostly because Stephenie Meyer is a big enough "sensation" to warrant midnight parties and blockbuster movies (though Twilight doesn't come out until November -- the weekend HP6 was supposed to come out -- it's already a given that it will be the movie of the holiday season). I think it's like comparing apples and oranges because the quality is so different, but that doesn't stop the media.

I hope that the next big literary sensation is actually good. :)
