I think that sounds good!! :-D I love it when you share what is on your mind, light or heavy, because it's always timely and worthwhile.

I don't really know about friends only journals, though; I think you just basically make each post private to friends, every time you post. There is a way now to go back and change that level of security across the board, too. So that could help. As for the ones you don't know, I don't think there is a way you can get rid of them, but if you have not friended them back, and you make all your posts friends only, then they won't see them. The ones you want to include will be the ones you friend back. If there are some you have lost touch with, you can unselect them as friends so they are not mutual friends, and then they won't see the locked posts.

I think that's how it works. You'd think I'd know after all this time, but I lock a post about once a year, so... ;-)

Or maybe just post to a custom friends list that includes the people you want to have as your friends. It's locked to them, then.

Yes, just turn your security settings to be 'friends' as the default setting (you can always change it for individual posts if you want). Then you just need to decide who you want to have on _your_ friends list. It doesn't matter if someone has friended you, the only people who can see friends only posts are people you have friended yourself. So if there are people on your flist that you don't want then you need to defriend them. It might be possible to set up custom lists to be your default, like you could have a filtered list of close friends that is your default security level, but you could keep others on your larger friends list that you might make posts available to on a semi-regular basis. I think lots of people do that kind of thing. Check the FAQs though, I know they've got all the answers in there!

Glad you're staying - I'd come by to tell you to at least leave the account up and running because it gives you access to friends posts that might be locked.
