Mischief...

Well, as you all know, we had a scare with Mischief 6 weeks ago. Her blood work came back spotless and as far as the vet could tell, there was a lesion on her tongue that needed to heal. I think we all knew that it could eventually be something else, but there was nothing else to be done t the time. I've been giving her wet food and bathing her. It ( Read more... )

Oh, god. I am so sorry.

Where is the cancer?

When they diagnosed Nympho, they told me that surgery was definitely not recommended and that he only had a handful of months left. That was last year. Obviously, the tumor on his back hasn't gone anywhere (it's actually gotten larger), but he's still acting like his normal self.

I'm not sure where the cancer is, but it seems like there might be a some neurological stuff going on. Tony and I had hoped that her troubles were only because of her tongue/mouth and that it would explain the weight loss. I don't know if Mischief has a solid or liquid tumor (or if the lesion is an indicator of mouth cancer), I have no idea. As I find out, I can let you know. We may try to see her tonight, if Jules is up for it.

It's in her mouth and tongue. There is now a large black mass on her tongue. Both doctors were being very nice but were also trying to tell me that they did not have alot of hope for her condition. I wish she was still acting like her normal (?, hah) self. Poor Nympho! He's a inspiration for me.

I picked up a high-calorie vitamin supplement and some kitten formula for Mischief as the doctor recommended in order to help her bulk up again. I'm just going to cross my fingers and hope she reacts well to the medication and stays with us for as long as possible. In the meantime, I also purchased some kitty deodorant wipes. The smell is not going to away no matter what we do...poor stinky baby. Does Nympho have an odor issue with his tumor? Not that it really matters, we love our babies whether or not they smell bad, but the stench does make for a more pathetic specimen.
