Wow you have a lot on your mind!

First I have to say that it does kinda make sense that you didn't see deafness as a handicap because you had a sister with it. I'm sure my sister isn't phased one bit by the way that I walk or by the scars on my body that I have had since I was little. It is pretty amazing how people adapt, both the person that is afflicted with the problem and the family members of that person.

I couldn't imagine being deaf, and frankly I wouldn't want to, but people have to deal with whatever they are handed. Be it deafness or some other form of handicap. >.< I know it sounds harsh, but I have first hand experience in that whole area, and I know just how much it can suck.

I'm sorry about the death of your friend, and to hear that your mom is sick :( I'm horrible at dealing with that kind of stuff. I know nothing I can say will help, but I am sorry for your loss anyway. I hope that your trip to see your mom goes okay.

Ah me once again showing wisdom beyond your years! ;-) It's true we get used to seeing people overcome what is considered handicaps in their lives and no longer consider that particular disability a handicap. To be completely honest I think it is awesome that you have stuck it out with the martial arts, it must be extremely trying and overly frustrating sometimes to know what needs to be done but struggle to physically do it because of a limitation. So in my books, you exemplify the notion that a disability is an challenge not a obstacle. And as for the deaths, it's a natural part of living. Things will get better. Now it's off to work! No wow time for me. probably not much for the rest of the week! :( BLAH!!!!
