Hey Cliff!
My grandfather lives in Washington D.C. and he knows like EVERYONE in the political world up there. In fact, he knows just about everyone everywhere. He works as one of the top dogs for the Smithsonian air and space museum and he has connections people like John McCain to the Princess of Thailand and Joan Baez.

I don't know how interested you are in the museums and stuff up there but a bunch of stuff from my grandma and grandpa's PERSONAL collection is in the museums (if you go to the american history one, the Eastern Airlines uniform on display was my grandmothers. she passed on a few years ago) but my grandfather rebuilt the Enola Gay and a bunch of other cool planes.

I know he's probably not into the young hip crowd but he knew about the monica lewinsky scandal BEFORE it went public so if you want me to give you some contact info for him, I bet he could fill you in on some cool stuff happening around town. :)

do the ask-around bit with friends. "Does anyone know anyone in DC?" it was a great boon in NYC when I was left to find housing at the last minute, and now I've got people I can look up next time I'm there. That's how Beckie & Jen met, actually!
