Deer season starts in less then an hour. got the signs all hung, and the shotgun loaded. Stay off my land and leave my deer alone. Have one doe and twin fawns who graze outside my window. The horses and the donkeys leave them alone, but the neighbors goats have to watch themselves as the donkeys will not let them staym and Shadow and her daughter go chasing them now

Saw one down in the weeds by the boat dock yesterday when I was driving out to the shooting range (testing some 9mm reloads and some Winchester White Box in .45). It was either a very large doe or buck with poor luck; only had the single prong antler on each side.

I slowed, and it darted across the road, towards the railroad tracks. It was watching for traffic, actually. Smarter than some people I've encountered.

I live on the edge of town and occasionally get deer in my backyard, most often knowing this from their droppings but sometimes from seeing the deer.

I can also see the New Capital building (100 years old last year) from my place when the trees are bare. I love living in Kentucky. :-)

Yeah, it is just the end of week one of deer season in our area.. can't wait for it to be over with once again..

One of my cousins got a bit of payback though.. he was driving home on his four-wheeler and a deer jumped over him and knocked him off into the ditch ..heh
