This morning at dawn, the 2 week foalwatch has ended with the birth of our new mini filly, Epona. She is a pinto like her mother, with 2 of the same markings as well. -a big round spot "saddle mark" and a black face.

Taking a break from foalwatch. Sorry if my writing is choppy, I'm tired and it's been a busy 3 weeks or so so far. The cows escaped into the road, then into the pasture across the road when we tried to round them up. This has been a rough month with Ariana back on the farm for a short time before getting very ill, and progressively worse. The tests are still pending on what specific bug she has, the current best guess is Lymes or Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever ( Read more... )

One of our cats, Mischief is now in bad shape and staying at the vets. He had been acting weak for a week, then started bleeding from his nose and mouth.
