I know I have not updated in a while but the exams left me flat out stressed and updating simply seemed trivial. And then the attack left me really quite shocked and confused. I feel awful for Hagrid and everyone else who lost someone ( Read more... )

All that exam stress can't be very good for your hair, Hermione.

Oh. Does stress really affect ones hair, Lavender?

Oh yes! Stress affects everything. I read about it in a book once!

Well, if you read about it in a book, it must be true.

Nothing but sitting and reading? Not very cool at all. You need to get out! Play some football or something!

I tried playing football once. But I'm afraid it was rather a disaster.

No need to apologise, Hermione. It's been a crazy year, that's for sure.

Yes, and think next year is going to be worse.

We'll get though it. Together. I'll be there, I promise.

Me too.

Harry needs to actually start preparing himself.

Hermione, are you coming to stay at the Burrow this summer?

Oh. I'm not sure Ginny.

If you decide to, you really should!

You only feel for those who lost someone? How about those scarred? Those mutilated?

So wonderful that everyone only cares for those who died, and not those who still have to carry with such damage. How nice it must be to be so simple of mind not to have to care for all those others.

Marietta, I didn't realise you couldn't read. Not once did I write only in my entry. I think you would do well not to assume things so much. I thought you may have learnt your lesson, for instance when you assumed no consequences would come from your actions, but obviously not. How is your forehead by the way?

To answer your question, I do not only feel for those who have lost someone, but I feel for them especially. Those fortunate enough not to have lost a loved one, even though they may be scarred et cetera, still have all those they need around them to help them get through such a difficult time.

Besides, I didn't realise you cared for anybody.

Well, I do realise that assumption is a mistake in anyone's case, but especially so in yours. I simply assumed since you showed no obvious remorse nor care nor consideration for anyone who was merely injured and not killed that you couldn't have cared less.

My forehead has been perfectly fine for quite some time. It's amazing what one can do with the right, shall we say, arts.

And you realised incorrectly, as per usual. I care for those who have, in their own way, managed to endear themselves to me. Or who may be useful to me. Unlike some, I try not to form needless attachment to those who will hinder me, slow me down, or in any way distract me from my goals. You'd do well to take a lesson, Hermione.

I wonder, as you and I rarely meet, how you could possibly tell if I showed remorse, care or consideration. Just because I did not clearly deliniate every one of my thoughts in my journal, does not mean that I do not have them.

Is it indeed?

And who, pray tell, have I formed "needless attachment"s with?
