Sensitivity or Censorship?

I read the following article which I have condensed - and it really got to me. None of it makes sense - this country can be so screwed up. I know we need to be sensitive, but really - we need to be honest moreso - and honest about our faulty government. American media has been biased like this for a long time. I just remember the war coverage when I was in NYC 2 years ago. The difference in media representation was one of the biggest culture shoks for me.

"Sanitized" is just another way of saying "filtered".

It's like the New York Fox Affiliats refusing the air the campeign ads for Brian Ellner. He is unsure if they are refusing it because in the 30 second ad he introduces his gay partner, or becuase he also makes fun of G. W. Bush (The ad starts with a closeup of Bush's face, then pans out to it being attached to a naked torso while the narrator reads "New Yorkers know the emperor has no clothes."

This case is however closer to Bush forbiding images of flag draped coffins of soldiers from Iraq to be displayed by the media. Heavens forbid the US public should start to get a sense of the enormity of the situation.

Move over China, "Freedom" is here.
