It broke my heart to see Lainie having to struggle to get upstairs last night. I've been having to put her in and out of bed, but so far she had been navigating the stairs okay. She's going gray before I am, and it's killing me to watch her grow old.

Im going through the same thing with 2 of my BTS.Dizzy,my female is 12,Six a male, is 11.Theyve both slowed down considerably in different ways,and I agree it is heartbreaking.Dizzy has had two knee replacements,(the fallout of her career as a frisbee champion I suspect) and her eyes have taken on a blue cast of the sort that elderly dogs are particularly susceptible.Six has grown fatty cysts,tho the vet assures me they are nothing to worry about.I have taken the bed off its frame so that its easier on their joints,and we carry them down the stairs these days in an effort to minimize the strain.Our third BT,Tony,who rounds out the BT population in our house, is a mere 7 and is in play mode constantly,making the disparity all the more evident.
I just try to remind myself that it makes loving them and spoiling them all the more important now,and seek to console myself that way..best luck to you guys.squeezes to Lainie and you from our house!
