That story was insane! I HAD to keep reading it -- it was impossible to stop. Ha Ha. I'm pretty thankful to be female at this point. :)

It's not really so bad. As far as splatterpunk is concerned, the attempted genre, it's pretty mild. For something quite disturbing, as it is not fantasy, read Albert Fish's letter to Mrs. Budd:

My Dear Mrs. budd

i have read this before. i have always been fascinated by serial killers. for some reason, things like that don't disturb me as much, even though i know that it really happened. i've never read any "splatterpunk" before, and only read this story because i like palahniuk. it seems that anything to do with sexual torture makes me squirm.

Splatterpunk is an interesting genre that tends to take the idea of "horror" a bit less traditionally. Its focus would be on something more disturbing than frightening and generally has the ability to churn ones stomach. There are a few "compilation" books out there titled "Splatterpunks" that are pretty interesting reads, although only a few of the stories are really worth reading (if you're into that extreme horror thing to begin with). I have writen a splatterpunk-ish story that actually made a friend of mine vomit. I always wanted to publish/submit/post it somewhere but I figure it's probably best not to as people tend to pass a lot of negative judgement. Anyway, I really do like the new Palahniuk story; I never figured him to go that far. Thanks for the link! And I hope the intrusion into your journal (just trolling about) doesn't bother you.
