Hi, I'm new, and have a quick question. I gave birth on Monday, and my milk came in on Wednesday. I was wondering how long it took for your milk to dry up. Any suggestions for making this a little more comfortable would be much appreciated.

Actually, any heat will encourage your breasts to produce milk.

From what my Dr said:

-Do NOT stand in hot showers or take hot baths. If you must take a hot shower, make sure that your breasts are not under the flow of water.
-Bind your breasts tightly, or wear a tight fitting bra.
-Keep your breasts cool. Use cold presses, cabbage leaves (yes, I got this one, too), or frozen veggies.
-Do NOT stimulate your breasts or nipples in any way.

Pump just enough for it to be comfortable. Feed this to your baby its like ambrosia.

Use cold never hot compresses.

I'll second manic_geisha...a "pump to wean" type thing works best as long as you only pump enough to be COMFORTABLE (this will NOT stimulate you to make more) along with cold anything.

believe it or not, wet cabbage leaves laid across your chest will dry up your milk!
