vomiting

I'm really depressed re: my daughter's vomiting. Sometimes it happens 5 days in a row, then nothing for 4 days. The doctor says it's just gas but of course I'm paranoid, being that she was in the hospital for her stomach twice already. It happens after she's burped, and sometimes 1/2 hour after eating. I can't seem to figure it out. Is this ( Read more... )

enfamil makes several different formulas..one for frequent throw uppers (thats has rice starch in it)...and then some that are lactose free, etc.

I would try one of them...I would think it wouldnt be a shock to her or anything, being from the same maker.

Oh they make lipil nutramigen?

I thought lactose problems too. A sensitivity or allergy.

I never heard of gas being an excuse for vomitting. What does the hospital have to say about it? I'd be worried about it being a milk allergy/sensitivity or something. And yeah switching formulas can be problematic. Is she losing weight? Vomitting, especially so long after eating, would worry me a bit. Is it partially digested/curdled, instead of fresh milky spit up? Smells more like puke than formula? If you havent really got into detail like that with the doctor, that could be why it's getting blown off.

OF course, could be just that my kids werent pukey, hopefully other moms here can talk to you. I'd want another opinion though, if it were me.

I had the exact same problem.

It wasn't allergy because well vomiting on its own is NOT a sign of an allergy. I tried changing formulas and it just made it worse. So I don't think I would switch unless your baby is showing other signs of an allergy.

-rash
-itchiness
-runny nose
-hives
-excezma
-loose, mucousy stools

Really the same symptoms you would expect if you were having an allergic reaction.

We treated it as reflux. Which seemed to help reduce the frequency and eventually he outgrew it after months and months.
