You've got to watch out for those Jewish trees

I'm reading the Hamas charter now, which is a pretty disgusting piece of work. It does, however, have its unintentional and bitter humour.

"The prophet, prayer and peace be upon him, said: The time will not come until Muslims will fight the Jews (and kill them); until the Jews hide behind rocks and trees, which will cry: O Muslim! there is a Jew ( Read more... )

politics, sadness

I swear, you do the weirdest shit in your free time XD.

It bothers me to read this, because I'm pretty sure Muhammad never said anything like that :\. Still, I guess I don't really know anything...

...EXCEPT THAT BSG IS BACK TOMORROW 8D

Also, I look up information about burn victims. And read about the stages of syphilis (no wait, that's what I'm actually *supposed* to be doing)...

And YAY BSG! I had to explain for awhile to Elliott today how we couldn't physically watch BSG tomorrow, because Sky isn't airing it until the 20th and it doesn't finish airing on the East Coast until 4am our time...(he took it badly)

I think that is the ultimate in omgwtfbbq. It's like in the Narnia books! only they believe it!

I guess I should figure out which tree is the Gharqad so I can hide behind it when the time comes.

I checked it out and this is in the Muslims' version of the Talmud (the ahadith), not in the Quran itself.

Yeah, this is why I have trouble with most evangelical beliefs. The Red Sea parted at Moses' command? Really?

not in the Quran itself
That's somewhat comforting...

Well, I have my own beliefs there and my own reasons for believing them... but I think it's taking it to a new level to think that there's going to be a big battle in modern times where Jews will hide behind rocks that will yell out that there's a Jew hiding there.

Maybe a better analogy would be someone convinced in modern times that they had the powers of Moses.

That's kind of the difference between modern life and life in Antiquity, though. Nowadays if someone declares themselves to be God reborn, they are dismissed as kooks. It must have been so hard in Antiquity with all these potential prophets wandering around, especially when choosing the wrong one could get your head cut off.

Ahaaha! You're so right - it does! Man, I love that man...was just reading about him recently. It's such a cruel twist of fate that someone like him has brain degeneration so early...
