The Hoshi thing makes me sad too. RDM says he really regrets that the decision to create a Gaeta/Hoshi relationship came only for the webisodes...after they'd finished filming the series...because he would have included some scenes from Hoshi's side.
I think they needed one of the 'good guys' to die during the ep, and Sam was the least offensive choice. Pretty, but dumb. He wasn't going to add much to the plot after this point.
Romo is so many levels of awesome. I was so happy when I saw him being led through the halls; I've really missed that guy! The pen thing cracked me up because of course he would use that as a weapon. lol
I was worried about 'Chiefy' too and I'm glad that he's getting back to his old self. The Kelly thing was awesome because this is the first episode that I actually liked him.
Just thinking about the scene where she gets her pins from Kara.....ugh. Oh, how they fall.Last night I was listing off to my bff the people that are now on my shit list and Seelix was one of them. Then I told my friend how I always

I liked that they brought out Kelly, Baltar, and Romo out for this episode because they've all been questionable characters, ones whose loyalties are questionable, and it was great to see them all on the right side when the pins were down.
There were huge gouges in the metal above the FTL drive - looked like a huge scary monster had done it, but I bet it's actually metal fatigue due to all the wear and tear (unless Battlestar is about to go all Alien on us...)
I really don't like Anders, but I'm pretty sure he's not going to die. For two reasons. 1) I don't think they'd kill a final fiver. At least not before they were ALL reunited. and 2) A while back in T.V. Guide, Trucco said the writers were trying to find a way to incorporate the scar on his neck into a story line on the show.
Yeah, some casting news I heard about recently also makes me doubt that Anders will die next ep. But I'll just say it again: I really don't mind if he does!
