To turn an experience into a good essay, you must identify the central conflict. I am, apparently, unable to do this. I so desperately want to just sit down and write something that means something, anything; to me to someone else, to anyone!! But alas, for I am incapable. You'd think that for a life rife with conflict, there would be nothing short ( Read more... )

I think this post in itself is beautiful. You said you wanted to write something that means something to someone and this means a lot to me. You have eloquently put into words so many feelings that i feel everyday. I think you should write your essay on that. You are obviously passionate about it. Sometimes fear drives you better than anything else. Why do I always strive to be the best at everything I do? Because I am AFRAID of failing. I think that is definately something worth writing about. Write about all those feelings that you have just expressed and how they effect your day to day and the things you do. I think it will mean a lot to many different people. Turn the experience of being a teenager into a good essay.

Can't write? Excuse me? Perhaps I misunderstood the amazing content of this eloquent post, because surely it's remarkable. It actually does hit me on a deeper level than all that is implied in the text. You are going places, kiddo, and don't forget about me when you get there! -Dani

Mike, you surely have come to prove that your level of writing is superb. I have read the AP English essays you've written and you never fail to inject your own spirit and character into your words. I could never formulate meaning from my thoughts as well as you have in this journal entry. You have finally come to realize some of your goals and your time, although quite precious, will find its own way to the people and things you care about most. The years of your high school career and your transition - into college, into adult, into an independent person - will be quickpaced. Enjoy it while you can.
