Ok, I knew all season Donna's storyline was ending that way. I knew from the first report of the Doctor telling Wilf that "She must never know." I had months to come to terms with it. But I wasn't wildly in love with Donna months ago. I hadn't yet seen her grow and change and be generally awesome all over the place. Now that it's actually happened

Yes. Because he's not the Doctor she loved. And forget all that faradiddle about how he was formed in war and carries the guilt of genocide -- Blue!Ten didn't stop smiling until they got to Bad Wolf Bay.

Good point! Blue!Ten was perfectly happy until then. He was not nearly as Nine-like as Brown!Ten would have us believe. I think literally what happened was that RTD made Brown!Ten say all that stuff and hoped no one would notice that it didn't make sense.

And why would Ten be so upset that his evil twin blew up the Daleks? He cannot possibly still think any good could come out of them, could he? Dude, it's not like Brown!Ten went around threatening to blow up Earth and all its inhabitants. Like someone I know.

What good is brilliance if no one will listen to me? If only we had a time machine of some sort...I could convince Rusty to do this instead of the half-hearted ...thing...we got instead.

In any case, I'm feeling better about the ending, but only because some awesome folks wrote a heck of a lot of fix-it fic. Apparently, a lot of people are better at this than RTD.

I would have been okay with it, too. I just hate that the Doctor walked away with nothing. Not Rose, not Donna, just...alone.
