I have 2 current TV shows that I have (grudgingly) started watching lately. I don't have cable, but I do have Hulu.com - so I don't actually have to watch -TV- to watch the shows. :D

We've been cableless for awhile now since we couldn't easily get it out in the country and I don't miss it a bit. Netflix takes care of movies and shows and everything we can't otherwise get online.

Dropped DirecTv Nov 08 when the ex moved out, and haven't missed it. I love my Netflix, and the Roku box has been golden!

indeed - pay for what you want to watch not what others think you ought to want to watch.

i've always been confused as to why, given we have the techonology to do this, i can't say to my provider (or either cable or satellite, i use cable) - "ok these are the specific channels i want, i dont need/want any of those", rather than having to choose a 'package', which are mostly filled with 'ballast'.

oh wait. it's because it would cost too much for them to change their billing systems to do this.

there is no such thing as 'putting yourself in the customer's shoes'. i should know, it's my job :p
