lol, well i guess so. but its really not fair to pass judgement on her. she couldve been picking them up for anyone.

and in any case, theres no feasible way to regulate WIC or other welfare programs wrt whether or not a person smokes.

well, she smelled like she smoked, and no there may not be a way to regulate it, but it sure would be nice if there were.

on a serious note tho, its one thing to smoke because its your choice, I was a smoker once, I chose to smoke, I also chose to quit... But if you are with child...
I'm all pro choice as far as abortions go, but if you are keeping your baby, you damn well better be taking care of your baby and if you are smoking while carrying said baby, you are not taking care of your baby.

I disagree. Assuming they were for her, that kid is going to need all the help it can get.

So you support her smoking while pregnant? because what you are saying is you dont mind buying her formula for her while she spends the cash she does have on cigarettes.

No, I support WIC (my taxes ;)) buying healthy food for her baby because if she's smoking while pregnant, the baby is going to need all the help it can get. As I'm sure you know, I don't support smoking AT ALL, but I wouldn't want to punish the baby for the mother's bad choices by withholding healthy food that it otherwise might not get.

well lets put it this way then... I'm not sure how long 5 cans of formula will last. But lets just say they will last 7-10 days (same as a carton of cigaretes) accordsing to the cash register HER 5 cans of formula costed US $58.90
let pretend this happened in michigan...
Cigarette tax in Michigan is out of this world when I visited in June, the avg pack of smokes was about 6.50$ there are 10 packs of cigarettes in a carton, $$$65.00

She would be able to spend HER OWN money on formula and even have some left over for uh... her childs college education??

AND there is going to be a new 1$ fed tax per pack of smokes soon...

even when i was smoker I never supported preg women smoking during pregnancy.

my point is,. she (obviously) has her own money to buy the formula, why do we have buy it for her.
