Rehearsals : Day 2 & 3

Day Two : Sunday afternoon.

Suzuki work was continued today. That is going to be the bulk of what we work on this entire week. Training in the Suzuki method. Trying to get the group's stamina up as well as our ability to work together and move as one and find what Keone calls a "collective heartbeat".

It all sounds very intense. I've never had any experience of rehearsing like that; when my group does a play we just throw ourselves straight into blocking and script work, so it's interesting to read about unusual (to me, at least) ways of working.

And I'm with you re: taking orders from peers. I was once in a production of Peter Pan directed by the most tyrannical uber-bitch I've ever met. She was barking our her instructions and generally treating us like her minions, and I just kept thinking, 'but.. you're MY AGE!' :-/

Yeah, I'm the same way. I've never done training like this for a show before. It's definitely an interesting and new experience...but I'm looking forward to jumping into the script.

and, LOL! I'm so glad there's someone else out there that feels the same way as I do. Makes me feel like less of a terrible person. XD
