After staring at the single frames of the composition gifs in Photoshop for the past 15 minutes, I have concluded that the answer to my question basically translates to "magic and shit". °_°
But this whole post is really super inspiring, thank you for taking the time!

I'm so bad at explaining! Basically, I just keep copy and pasting and rotating and resizing over and over and over (and randomly, I never have an end goal in mind, I just put things where I think they look nice and orderly?) & it helps to do lighting at the end imo (I usually do black/white gradient set to overlay 70% and then mask it so it goes over each little square. IDK. I am really bad at explaining how I do those because I'm still learning how to do them and have only made like... 7 in my life. So I'm sorry I don't have a better answer. :c
