Strange child

At dinner, my four-year-old daughter turned down the offer of chocolate tapioca pudding and instead requested (tortilla) chips and salsa for dessert.

Um, I think you somehow got MY kid by mistake...or a miniature version of me...

I have also noticed that my 2.75 year old often turns down sweet for savory. I think either:
1) she'll turn towards sweets with a vengeance later on, or
2) the normal American kid sweet tooth is the result of a lot of Coke and Pepsi and Corn Syrup Advisory Board pushing from a young age, and if you don't expose kids to that they only want a more or less healthy amount of sweets

Here's hoping for option 2.

We do try to keep them away from the sweet stuff.

We were at the park the other day when the ice cream van arrived, blaring its music. There was a shout of "ice cream truck" and kids were running for it. My two were oblivious. They don't know what an ice cream van is.
