but charlie is dead in the future, that probably nullifies the whole constant thing...
I'm thinking the island is some sort of rip in space/time....as if that wasn't obvious...
"Jack and Locke discover that the hatch is a 1980's station built to control an electromagnetic anomaly on the island and learn that it was built by the Dharma Initiative, a scientific research team. "
from episode 2 of season 2. Me thinks that station had something to do with the space/time anomaly, and maybe the radiation suits aren't because they want to blow up the island, but has more to do with the fact that radiation/electromagnetic activities cause situations like desmonds and the radar guy who died on the boat.
But the whole Charlie thing would kinda work. He met Charlie in the past and on the Island. Bill wasn't walking about the future as in the ghost Charlie who visits Hyugo
Eh, I'm not sure that he would work. The constant has to be something that is of great importance to the person. Charlie is a pretty good buddy of Desmond's, but it's not enough. Something like a priceless family heirloom, or the strong love of a person (Penny) does work.
Yeah but if it's something of great importance, then David can't use Desmond, because they're only acquaintances. The reasons Desmond can't use Charlie are A) Charlie died before the consciousness-transfer episodes started, B) Desmond doesn't remember Charlie since the episodes began, and C) He would be unable to find Charlie in the past. Desmond immediately thought of Penny because she was so prominent in his thoughts at the time.
I was thinking the time difference might somehow be the bearing you exit or enter with. Either that, or it leaves the least side effects. It's pretty crazy since time has passed the same on or off the island, but yet it is somehow perceived differently.
ole' smokey be a security feature of the island aparently...
jacob is Slimer, to which Miles use his proton pack to capture in a ghost trap.
and maybe daniel has a memory problem, all the new characters seem to have a flaw or awkward characteristic, or it could be that he experimented on himself, and has some kind of wierd time distortion going on within himself?
