Some things hadn't changed a bit since Craig last saw the Doctor. He still lived at the same address, still did the 9 to 5, still read Alfie bedtime stories when more often than not he was sending himself to sleep.
But some things had changed.
Alfie was now less confined to a papoose and now exploring the house on his legs, the hallway had been given a new lick of paint and Craig, well, Craig was getting married tomorrow.
That's why when the doorbell rang, he stomped off towards it, unlocking the catch and throwing it open with a laugh. "You are so bloody late!"
Craig stood still, staring at the Doctor. He pointed at him uncertainly, his hand hovering in the air as his mouth made a few false starts at a sentence.
"Doctor.. not being funny or nothing. But, aren't you.. er, supposed to be.. you know.."

He then stopped, stunned.
"Doctor?"

"Craig!" he said, holding his arms out in the air in front of him.
"And am I? Sorry. Must have pressed the wrong button."
He paused, straightened his face. "Again."
Again he grinned. "Still. Here now. Hello and all that!"

And then it hit him.
"Oh! Dead! Yes. No, I'm not. Not dead. I take it you noticed."
