Quiet footsteps rang out in the corridors of Stormcage. Each step was precise and exacting, with an sound that echoed as if in chorus with the constant crashes of lightning beyond the walls

Stormcage never had any visitors. The only way one saw a new face, was with the arrival of a new prisoner. Every couple of weeks, a newcomer would be brought into their midst, designated to a cell before being left to the harsh environment of prison. Then began a whole other kind of integration process. "Don't think so," she replied, then raising a saucy eyebrow. "You'd remember a face like that."
"Must be bad," Calas said with a sniff. "You usually know 'em all."
She turned her head to the side, looking back to where the guards stood at the doors of the great hall, and how the men in suits patrolled up and down.
"You know I've 'erd people say he's a Luminary, right? Keeping bloody quiet about it if 'e is. Doesn't say much. Quiet when he does. Polite n'all but that usually means they're after somethin' dun it?'
