I'm taking a break from fandom.  Admittedly, I've not been very engaged in these last years mostly due to RL commitments, but it feels like the right time to step back, or at least tell myself that I'm taking a break officially so I'm not feeling a weird sense of obligation to stay half-tuned into what's going on, which I've tried to do even though

I'm gonna miss you a ton but I'm glad you'll be around at spnematography from time to time. I've learned a lot from you about film and it's always nice to hear what's going on in your RL. Take care and hopefully we'll catch up with each other again sometime.

I very much understand the impulse to take a step back from SPN and fandom. I am doing the same, actually. These last few weeks, I was reminded of a simple truth, namely that a tv show (and fandom) should make me happy and, truth be told, SPN made me mostly miserable since Carver took over. So it's time for me to move on, before he manages to destroy the love and respect I still have for the show and its characters.

Thanks. I hope you've been able to preserve your Show love by stepping back. Not thinking too much about what's been happening on SPN has cut down on my general frustration. I do miss having something to analyze, pick apart, and squee over. Clearly, I need a new fandom in order to put my brain to work.

I hope you stick around on LJ. I've always enjoyed your posts and the fact you articulate your show thoughts so completely such that I felt like most of my replies were long-winded versions of "Yes, everything you said!" Don't be a stranger. :)
