And maybe he did 'fix it up' in his own view. I know people who have truly lived in some shitholes who considered them really nice, because they didn't know any better.

oh i wanted to, believe me, but i wanted my first real brawl to be outside of a dive bar. plus, he was a burly man with a stache. i probably would have lost.
