Last night I was having the weirdest dream where a dog was barking and barking and barking and barking...and then I realized it was our neighbor's basset hound standing in their backyard barking his head off.

When I looked out the window and saw the lights on in their house AT TWO O'CLOCK IN THE MORNING I nearly walked around the block to bang down

Ok.. Rex annoys the hell out of me if he barks like that for more than 2 seconds!.. how can someone let their own damn dog bark like that!?!?

I'm so glad to know that you are as classy as me. I don't get how people can just let their dog bark like that. Anytime mine would try to bark like that I didn't allow it.

I suggest getting their number and calling them and waking them up. If the dog barks call them. If he barks again call them again.

I've done that over dogs barking and my neighbour having the radio on full blast at 4am.

We've got a dog on the other side of the play-park behind our garden that goes off on one every night. The owners never do anything about it, poor hound is outside on his own all hours. You can just hear these mournful cries going on.

Glad they shut up and you got some sleep!

Wow. We don't let our Bassets go off endlessly at any time of the day. We let them bark for a while to get it out of their system, then we call them back in -- and that's during the day! At night, they get a couple of barks before being shut down.
