On the 3rd of this month, something had happened. And it goes without saying that the whole thing affected Mac physically ALMOST as much as it did emotionally. He was conflicted.

Mac's psyche during the whole fight was battling him. He didn't want to hurt Char, he understood him. He understood the anger he had. Mac hadn't meant to hurt Oak and the Charizard, he couldn't control himself when he was that monster. But that was still probably no excuse. You can't beat around the bush with family, Mac knew that. Mac was sentimental that way. Messing with loved ones makes people angry, Mac knew ALL of that. But it was the matter that Ashley turned him into something that destroyed his better judgment. Mac would never had hurt innocents. Ever. He only fought for sport with those who wanted it. Or when it came to defense. Even if Oak demanded Char to beat him up, could he be angry at him? No, of course not. He couldn't bring himself to. Like he couldn't bring himself to put his fists up and fight his own conscience to throttle Char back.

So here he was. The day after going to get checked at the hospital. All banged up and lying in his dorm. His worse injuries will heal, of course. And nothing a jacket couldn't cover up. But he was badly bruised as well beyond what clothes could cover. He'd be a walking disaster. People would ask him what had happened. Mac wouldn't be able to tell anyone, not even remotely willingly. People would get the wrong idea, Mac feared. He didn't want anything else to befall Char especially. In his eyes, Char did no wrong. Funny, Mac had just started getting better about being more open to his problems...and here he was hiding it again. Mac didn't leave his dorm much, not until his bruises went away at least. He just hoped Jake wasn't minding this too much. Mac did leave to go get something to eat but then he was back in his dorm. No weightlifting. No training. Nothing. Mac was too injured to do those things right now. There was a huge lack of the usually cheerful boxer that was eager to train and attend classes. He refused to tell anyone of this. Especially...say...Bulba. Or Max. Or Knuckles. Or...anyone. He had been avoiding people for the most part.

But his door was not locked.

[Eventually, Mac did get up to do something he knew he had to do. By Char's dorm, there was a note. Along with a few Hyper Potions and...a hot hamburger.]

I'm sorry.
