Cheerleader involves being willing to audience and hand-hold someone who is working on their Big Bang. People use cheerleaders in different ways: IMing with a cheerleader and bouncing ideas off them, flinging paragraphs or sections at them and saying, "please tell me this doesn't suck!"
There are different ways cheerleading works, but the main point is to help someone's creative process. Cheerleaders are not critiquing--there is a time and place for that, and when someone wants critique, they will search out a beta, not a cheerleader. Does that make sense?
Is an RPS crossover acceptable (that is using Merlin and Arthur and crossing them with a real person fandom, rather than using Bradley and Colin and crossing them with a fictional fandom) or only FPS? and If we have our own existing beta can we continue to use them or do we have to use one from the fest?
Anyone can use whatever beta they wish - the beta list is just to help those who might not use regular betas. So long as everyone has at least one beta, wherever they may come from, we're happy.
Thank you. Of course that means that now I have to decided which fic I want to write - LOL. Well it will be interesting watching the two bunnies fight for dominance in my brain ;).
Thanks for the clarification on betas, just wanted to make sure.
There is a slight problem with dates for me, since I may well be away when things are being posted. If there's no way this can be resolved, I'll take the fic with me on a memory stick and email it from an internet cafe (i.e. OMG SO DESPERATE TO SIGN FOR THIS, it sounds awesome! ^_^), but it would be a little easier for me if there was there some way I could send it in earlier, before I go travelling. I'm really sorry to be difficult, but is there any way I can do this - provided, obviously the fic is beta'd and read to go?
Well - the "posting" dates are very different than the due dates. Take a look at the rules again. :D Everything's going live at once, so you'll have all the time in the world to send it in before that due date.
OK, thank you! My problem was more that I'll probably be away by July 6th and I was hoping to sign up for Section Four, but if I can send it in beforehand, that's no problem at all. ^_^
Willing and able to help with aforementioned AWESOME WEBSITE. *g* Can do coding (CSS, (X)HTML, and editing of PHP), design, and love doing the stupid drudge work wherein you get to see it all come together.
EXCELLENT. \o/ Once we get our web team together, I'll make a little e-mail mailing list to get you guys percolating on exactly what we want to do for June/July.
