I wrote about this plot bunny in my own journal after watching an episode of Bones...which I hopes doesn't make it spoliery o.O. I'm just copying it here and I hope it is coherent, but if not, please let me know and I will edit accordingly:

And I know it's been done before, the above episode being a prime example, but I would love to read about Arthur being in a predicament and hallucination-Merlin (or maybe projection-Merlin as he's you know...magic and all that?) there to help because it would be snarky and funny and full of awesome. Oooooor it could be future where Merlin isn't stuck in a cave, but is you know...wandering or whatever and gets into a predicament for some reason and he's tired and frustrated and lonely and...ergo hallucination-Arthur!). It would be doubly awesome if there were Merlin/Arthur slash (or I suppose hints at slash since one of them isn't really there (has now confused self).

Also, to everyone writing in this most awesome adventure, g'luck!

I really, really want to read fic in which Arthur and Valiant have hatesex. And okay, that's probably not 35k of fic on it's own (though if you could make that happen I would BUILD A SHRINE), but Valiant's attack on Camelot seemed pretty well planned. Was there a contingency plan? Did an evil!spectator at the tournament clock Merlin, and if so what are they going to do about him? How, exactly, does the fact that Arthur is not subtle about his hate conquests effect the other characters? Does Merlin cop off with Lancelot in an act of petty, naked vengeance?

...I have probably thought about this too much.

Merlin/Arthur. Merlin comes unstuck in the multiverse, and is traveling through alternate realities where their histories play out in every imaginable way. He just wants to get back to his Arthur.
