seriously those 2.5 million ppl are just spending their time at computers rather than in front of tvs

I think most of the statistics can be attributed to entertainment through the computer, or through digital video recorders becoming more prevalent. Up until recently, DVR usage was not recorded at all in Nielsen ratings.

Numbers are easily, EASILY manipulated. I have a close friend that is in this field and it's amazing how simply things can be worded to make something seem huge.
