Stupid heat-vision.

Stupider combustible hay bales.

Stupid me.

I'm restricted to the house for the next week. No use of powers, unless in an extreme emergency.

I think I liked it better when I didn't have a secret identity.

What happened, Kon?

I was practicing. Didn't watch what was around, and the fire jumped to a hay bale. It coulda jumped to more than one, but I smothered it. Cost us two bales, and it scared the heck out of the cows.

Pa was not happy.

Then you should watch.

I don't know. Maybe the hay bales had it coming?

If you get bored, you should visit Kansas. Flash is still missing and you'd be handy.

Hey, kid?

You're not stupid. Trust me.

Feels like it sometimes, Canary.

You AREN'T.

Sometime when you're not grounded I'll tell you some stories about what it was like when I was learning how to use my sonic cry. Especially the parts when I was experimenting with hypersonics.

Sounds like a good time. When I get Pa to the point where he's not doing the pinch-the-bridge-of-his-nose-and-mutter thing, I'll take you up on it.

Wow.

You really need to keep the practising to areas without flammable materiels, Wonderboy.

That's helpful advice, Bart.

First off, you're not stupid. Don't say that.

Where were you practicing? Is there anywhere on a farm that doesn't have particularly flammable stuff? If you can't find anywhere to practice (once you're allowed to again), maybe Superman could help you figure something out?

And does being grounded for a week include not going to San Francisco on the weekend?

I might be able to sweet-talk Ma into letting me go, but something tells me that they're gonna leave it up to Clark.

And he'll just tell me to abide by what Pa told me, and do better next time.

Sometimes, I think I'm never gonna live up to this S on my chest, Cassie.

Hmm, maybe tell them that training out at Titans tower will help you get better so there aren't any more training accidents? I mean Superman didn't always have all those abilities. He had to figure out how to use them himself. Maybe he'll be more sympathetic than you think.

And don't worry about living up to someone else's standards. Just be yourself. That's enough for me.

That's enough for me, too.

Unless you ask for my help. Then you have to live up to my standards, too. *grin*
