One of the patients of the week is a young soldier needing brain surgery. His lover, who is also a soldier, is there with him. It's a very sweet scene, though things don't turn out well for them.
That is such a sweet scene! Who's that guy that's coming in at the end? And you happen to know the title / episode no. of it? I'd love to watch the whole thing! Thanks for sharing!!!
The man who walks in is the sick soldier's father. He doesn't seem to know his son is gay. It's season 4, episode 14 "The Becoming". There's a longer youtube clip of the whole story for these two here: http://youtube.com/watch?v=rylVBI9A8e8 if you'd like. I didn't originally post it in case people hadn't seen the episode yet. Enjoy!
This is the only episode of Grey's I've ever watched, and just because I knew this was coming. And boy, did I cry.
It's now been two days since I've watched it, and I'm still thinking about it. I guess this means for me, this has hit even harder than "Forever Blue" (the infamous Cold Case episode).
Forever Blue is so sad, especially when you think about the double meaning of the title and how it sums up how the surviving man has felt ever since his partner died and he wasn't there to save him. Sometimes an episode's title really fits everything within it. I console myself with the fact that, since the cop was already quite old, soon enough he will die and be reunited with his soul mate, much like Ennis will be soon with Jack sometime down the line.
I don't usually watch the show, but my aunt and grandmother do. I wanted to squee when I saw it, but then I thought better of it. They might not quite understand. ^_^
But not only is it hot, it's sweet and romantic and just lovely.

Man, why did this have to be so sad?
