Sometimes I Still Just Can't Believe You're Gone...

Today marks the one year death anniversary for my grandpa. My parents wanted to say a prayer...but before, my dad wanted to read a little from a random verse in the bible. It's sad. I think media has had a big part in making death an impersonal, frightening thing. It used to be that a funeral would be a party. Rather than everyone crying, and wondering how they can live without the person, people would recount the great deeds the person did, funny things that they experienced, and muse upon fond memories. Afterwards they would drink and celebrate his/her passing on.

Now its this thing that we dont talk about and we hide from, and so when it finally hits us, we are in shock and can't handle it well, and over a period of anywhere from a year to the rest of our life we mourn. Just try and remind your dad that (who i'm assuming is HIS:) father is in a MUCH better place, now.
