We're in Istanbul and enjoying the fat breakfast. Cheese and Nutella have been back on the menu for weeks now. We came at the perfect time. The Marmara is blue and the Bosporous green. It's a holiday weekend in Turkey and all the flags are out. It's a great place, but the nationalism isn't very attractive. It's a bit sad really -seems like

Oh, essays. I'm going to get a lot of practice writing very soon. What sort of job would you want at the Foreign Service? They're off my list at the moment, at least until I'm done with grad school. Then they might be back on it.
When I get a kitten of my own, I'm going to name it Hatshepsut, or Isis (provided I get a girl). Although I've also always entertained the name Spork for a cat. It seems a good cat name.
